Art Journaling

Good morning everyone! I am mind blowingly busy from Jan 1 to April 15, because of tax season and other large projects, and my creativity takes a hit.

I was feeling like a slug with too much left brained activity so I took a well needed break and art journaled most of the day. Yey!

I picked some Bible verses that spoke to me and were very visual. Psalm 148:7-12. These particular verses show everyone and everything praising God. It’s a great way to memorize scripture also. See below for the rest of images.

If you’re not familiar with art journaling, it can involve a range of every art supply at Michael’s, to a few simple tools…a journal, scissors, magazines, colored markers, glue. And what inspires you!

P.S. I put a funny picture in one of my pages. Can you find it? 😀🤔😀

Curious…what are your favorite activities when you need a break?

Thanks for visiting and may God bless you!

  1. That looks so fun! I usually go out for a walk when I need a break. Fresh air and nature whisk me away from my desk and reset my mind. Lately, I haven’t been able walk far, but shoveling the snow seems to get the ants out of my pants too. 😂

  2. I’ve dabbled in Bible art journaling–you’ve inspired me to give it another go, Marla. Some pages I tackled took more time than I anticipated. I like your simpler approach–making montages from magazine pics, for example. Now I’m going to head over to that link you shared above with another commenter. Thank you, Marla!

  3. I agree that taking time to be creative is important, especially for people like me who tend to be very serious most of the time. I once took time out to draw and or watercolor. I need to get back to that! Thanks for the inspiration. Blessings, Marla!

  4. We choose to make time to be creative. Art journaling can really take time but it feels like a therapy, right? You feel good doing it. Haha I enjoy looking at your journal. 🙂 I’m trying to improve my journaling as well. Let’s connect! 🤗

    1. Hi Gilian, nice to meet you! I stumbled upon art journaling as I explored different facets of art like painting, drawing, etc. Art journaling fits my personality. How did you find art journaling?

      1. I’m not very good at it, but I like using it it from time to time. Then I thought of combining it to something I love doing which was reading the Bible and writing. 🙂 it worked for me.
