Congrats on your anniversary! My short version of wisdom after 50+ years of marriage? Be willing to grant grace to the one that I love, as I have been given grace many times by God who loves me. Blessings!

Thank you! 🙂 Agreed, listening is so important. But really listening not only with one’s ears, but one’s heart. No preconceived notions about what they “should” be saying according to “your” standards. Be open minded and curious why they feel that way.

Happy Anniversary, Marla! Your “key” is good advice. Many married people focus on their spouse’s shortcomings and weaknesses (conveniently overlooking their own). Heels are dug in and the situation becomes intolerable for everyone.
