My WordPress Family – a big hug to you!

My WordPress family has become an incredible, instrumental gift to me.  I’m on a limited amount of social media and don’t use it for personal support or encouragement.   I “like” lots of posts and am in groups like “Bunnies Make me Happy” but I don’t share that much, other than an occasional uplifting or comical post.

I’ve found the WordPress community, tight knit and so supportive of each other.  When I joined, it was for the purpose of relaying all the God stories that touch my life.  It is about God.  So I don’t check stats, or care how many followers I have.  God chooses who He wants to read these blogs, not “analytics.”   Basically it is His blog and I just write the stories He has created in my life.

Currently, I am running into more and more struggles as the world becomes darker.  What I hadn’t counted on, is the Christian family I’m gaining through WordPress.

Here are my experiences:

People you don’t know, start praying for each other.

A blogger whose posts interested me because we are both teachers, started commenting on my posts and vice versa.  There was a real comfort zone with her and I asked if we could communicate via email.  Since then, we write once a week like pen pals and a stranger has become a good friend.

A couple of Sundays ago, I read a blog that made me think that blogger may be able to give God’s wisdom to an issue I’m having and sure enough, he did.  God gave me the right person with the exact answers I needed to hear!

Then a person “liked” one of my posts and commented.  I looked at their blog and quickly found God gave me a blogger that dealt extensively with a family problem I am currently having.   I am learning so much through this blogger.

When I only had a couple of followers, one woman who prays every morning on her blog, befriended me.  I was curious about her life and how her strong  devotion to Jesus, came to be.  We became Facebook friends and communicate via messenger at times and she shared the most amazing story of her extremely difficult upbringing.  I treasure her.

I have a friend who comments and supports me weekly with any new blog I write.  He has 1000s of followers and he considers it an exercise to fully support another blogger and can’t let go of this opportunity!   What a beautiful Godly perspective!

I am friends with a gal from Newfoundland who supports me and I love her updates on what life is like from this country and her experiences and humor.

I’ve learned how hard it is for people from other countries to survive, with things such as work and economic conditions.

I have several people I follow to get the real news of the world,  the news they may not be able to report on mainstream media.

I follow people who do photography for WordPress blogs and get to see the world’s beautiful sights.  And hear about all the places I may want to go to one day.  One guy raved about Kentucky so much that now I have a burning desire to visit!  And two sisters that model all around the world, their blogs are fascinating!

I like to see food bloggers recipes and delicious pics, although I most often find things better to do with my time, than be in a kitchen, connected to a stove.  Haha

I love scriptures that people post, with just a simple picture.   A quick reminder of God’s precious words.

Some people even reblog (is that what you call it when someone shares your posts?) and that is so nice.

I’ve just had so many people that are genuine, loving and supportive throughout my year on WordPress and I want to thank you all for taking the time to be my friend!  I didn’t know when I wanted to blog for God that I would be the one benefiting so much.  But HE did!  Thank you God!

Dear God, Please bless all these special people.  ❤🙏🥰

    1. Yes! That is something else I should have included…being blessed to associate with people around the world. Their needs, thoughts, all displayed in blogs. Thank you Eileen for being part of my world.

  5. One of the things that God asks us to do is to build one another up, whenever we have the opportunity (1 Thess 5:11). I have found that frequently God’s Holy Spirit will let us know when to share a kind word or to give a word of encouragement to someone within our circle of friends on WordPress etc. Sometimes it takes so little effort and yet we have no way of knowing how much it is needed at the other end. I love it when God does that. And that is what you are doing today! Good for you! God’s grace, peace and blessings to you and yours.

  6. This is so true. A couple of weeks ago, I really needed some sound Godly advise. I was waiting on one of my Bible study ladies to come to the rescue. But God had other plans. A blogger I confided in by giving the generalities of my issue, wrote a simple 4 step plan. And it was a cure! I see God working in WordPress and I praise Him! Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts Bruce!
