Aprons

Apron made by Mama Louise

How many of you wear aprons? Since last week’s post was very heavy, this is a fun post about aprons.

My dear friend and second mama, Louise, has seen a lot in her 8 decades and captures her stories in writing, thank God. She is a regular historian, except she doesn’t go to the library to research, she pulls it from her own experiences.

I am posting her “Ode to Mama’s Apron” below but I love to relate everything to God and was curious to see if an apron is in the Bible. It is!

Acts 19:11-12 NIV  “God did extraordinary miracles through Paul, so that even handkerchiefs and APRONS that had touched him were taken to the sick, and their illnesses were cured and the evil spirits left them.”

Thank you Mama Louise for allowing me to share! And thank you so much for making me this very special apron!

Anyone remember aprons and have a story? Please feel free to share! May God bless your week!

  1. I loved reading Mama Louise’s memories about aprons. It’s so interesting to hear of the many ways that aprons were used. I have a few aprons and I occasionally wear one, especially when I don’t want to get my clothes messy as I cook. I used to cook big meals for our church, and our team always wore aprons. Good memories! Thank you for sharing Mama Louise’s writing.

  2. It was lovely to read the ode to Aprons and reflect on every which way it tended to be used. I think aprons are not as common today as was then.
And I love that you found a verse that had aprons in it 🤗💙
