Is it ok to love God with all your heart, mind and soul, yet goof off…in Bible study?! YES!
I had the best time at my women’s Bible study this week. We were giggling like school girls at a slumber party.
First, the word “loins,” hit our funny bones. The beautiful image of male anatomy, and even the “kilt,” all got thrown into the conversation!
And as you know, once people are on a roll of laughing, everything becomes lighthearted! We continued the study and it turned to line dancing and that turned into a “fat little Frenchman” story (don’t ask, you had to be there Haha.) I adore this group because they hold me together and keep me uplifted. No one was taking offense; it was all about being silly at a difficult time for each of us at the study!
But was God upstairs, passing out demerits for one and all? Was our precious Lord thinking “Ugh, write down the names of these perpetrating Phoenix women because they are cutting up while studying my Word and I just can’t have that. I want complete seriousness at all times.”?
NO! Jesus Calling says laughter is great!

“A cheerful heart is good medicine,
but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.” Proverbs 17:22
Bones? Hmm, I think I will introduce this word during the next Bible study…it has the makings of another fit of giggles! And giggles are a much needed thing during Christmas shopping, year end doctor appointments, a pandemic, etcetera etcetera etcetera!
So remember to laugh so hard, you pee your pants! Thank you God for giving us our senses of humor. And Depends. Heehee. π€£π€£π€£
This entry was so sweet.

Better late than never! So, this was posted 27 months ago, and I just came across it! Funny post, and I would enthusiastically agree that our Lord wants us to enjoy one another as we enjoy fellowship with Him. Christians often get a bum rap as being βanti-socialβ and βkilljoys.β Not so! Chris Tomlin sings, βGodβs Great Dance Floorβ to celebrate the sheer joy of being saved by Jesus Christ.

You have a perfectly good excuse why it’s 27 months later…you were busy writing novels! β π π€£

Also, I read it when God wanted me to see it! Iβm amazed when I see a notification that someone read a former post of mine. Our blogs are forever, I guess. Godβs continued blessings for you and your online ministry.
